Evia's latest indocrination is more of the same old self-entitled whining that has been addressed before, but I will address it again. In her latest post, she once again attacks a Black man (and all Black men by extension) who dare not find her "type" sexy. I'll just point out some of the things that bothered me.
1) Why is a Black woman who is supposedly happily married to a White man and who advocates Black women date out interested in who Black men find attractive?
2) Evia once again foolishly compares job performance (something with objective criteria) to sexual attraction (something subjective).
3) Evia creates a strawman by giving Black men their argument that we would be upset at the Australian producer who did not want to cast Forest Whitaker. Actually I agree with the Australian producer if his job is on the line. He has every right to put whoever he thinks can make his film the most successful.
4) Evia once again ignores reality. Forest Whitaker has a successful acting career with an Oscar to show for it. He also seems to be a happily married man with happy children. Even when a Black man succeeds he can't win with the Something Screwed Crew. However, when one is as self-serving and selfish as Evia, facts will not register. Even IF Forest Whitaker was a flaming colorist, he married an attractive woman, what is what most men ulitmately want. Why should Forest pass on such a woman and keep looking for someone that meets Evia's approval? Who the fuck is Evia?
5) Gwen Ifill is single for the very simple reason that men are not looking for Gwen Ifill. Gwen Ifill has been surrounded by powerful men of all races in her career, yet none of them have managed to hook up with her. At 54, it hasn't been just Black men that don't find her marriage worthy, it has been All men.
6) Doesn't Evia realize that she sounds like a nasty, sexual predator. Demanding Quid Pro Quo or threatening to "starve" Black men for marrying who they please? What? Just because she paid $7 for a movie ticket she thinks this gives her the right to tell Forest Whitaker where to stick his dick for the rest of his life? What ever happened to going to a movie and enjoying it because you like the content?
How big of a pig of a woman do you have to be to threaten men to find you attractive? Did White women threaten to boycott the Beatles after John Lennon married Yoko Ono or threaten to boycott FOX after Rupert Murdoch married his Chinese bride?
7) If Forest Whitaker drove a cab or worked in a cafeteria, do you think Evia would be lamenting the skin tone of his wife? I wonder how many of these so called darked skin sisters turned away Forest and his "funny eye" before he became a world famous actor. Why is it okay for Black women to be able the select and reject who they wish, but Black men have to adhere to some standard or otherwise be labeled "damaged".

8) As yanmommasaid pointed out:

If a Black man dates a light skin woman, it must be because he is a trifling, no good, self-hating, momma hating, wanna be white man, lowdown no good ass-kissing uncle tom. And the light skin woman is a bitch who is taking advantage of her "priviledge" and thus faces much scorn from other Black women.

However if a White man dates the very same light skin woman, it is a match made in heaven and she is soul sister #1, an inspiration to all Black women who wish to date non-Black (mostly White) men.
And a vast majority of the women on earth standing next to Eddie Murphy are going to be lighter than him. Should he limit himself to a much smaller percentage of the female population just so he can get Evia's $7?
9) In the ultimate irony, the last part of the article talks about dangerous Black men who won't take no for an answer from Black women who don't want them. Yet, earlier she is the one threatening to "starve" someone for not taking an interest in someone like her. If Evia and women like her had the physical strength, I would fear for men like Forest Whitaker.

It's a good post but I felt I should speak on the Gwen Ifil comment. First, we don't know who Gwen's with...What types or how many Men or Women she may have been with. It's wrong to say who's checking for her. There may not be people who can figure out why a certain someone may be checking for her. Plus remember in Forrest Case, he's an intense studying performer. He's a Yogi and as far as a religious text he carries a copy of the Quantam Gods! Not the run of the mill Black Dude and anyone who is with him would certainly have to be understanding and open.
Jaycee
Great to see you posting again. I cant stand it when the whole color issues goes. My mother is light skinned my father is a little bit darker than me. Both of them are well educated black people why shouldnt they be together? I remember overhearing my father talking to some people at my cousin's wedding about how much he just loved my mother and how they were just perfect for each other. He still hold her and everything and they've been together for 20 years. Should he have just keep walking when he met my mother just so he could find a much darker spouse. No because he already found someone special. I agree it is such a double-standard with Evia and it is ridculous. Also I worry abot what these women do to their daughters they have with these white men let alone the ones they have with black men who come out light skinned. Are you going to put down your daughter fro her skin tone or tell her to appricate her beauty.
Why doesn't Evia post a pic of Anthony Hamilton and his wife? Why doesn't she post a pic of Eddie George and his wife. Why doesn't she post a pic of Samuel L. Jackson and his wife? Denzel Washington and his wife? The list goes on.
Jennifer Hudson dumped her loyal, long time dark skinned boyfriend to date the biracial David Otunga. When is Evia going to show her disrespect.
Mista Jaycee,
I felt bad about making my comments about Ms. Ifill. Unfortunately Evia "drafted" her into this nonsense. True we don't know who she has been with. Judging from the qoute she made, she was looking, but no keepers.
Raina,
I do take the color issue personal because I am dark too. I would guess that I am darker than 95-98% of the females that I meet. Should I limit myself to that 2-5% to please some neurotic psychopath? Also I am dark and I don't have a problem attracting all shades of women, maybe it is not darkness that is holding them back to the extent that they want to blame.
Rocky,
She doesn't post any of those things because those things don't threaten her ego.
As a dark skinned female I get so enraged when other women try to claim victimhood due to complexion. I am not saying that *some* black men do not like dark-skinned women but I swear there is an equal if not greater number of black women who do not like dark men. There is a "safe" level of darkness a black man can have before he is pushed into "blue-black" territory.
My husband and I are like pretty much the same color. In the summer I think I am a little darker than he but it really isn't noticeable. Now, in the past he has dated other dark skinned girls (some dark as me, some not) a bi-racial girl, and "medium-toned" brown girls. If these "empowerment" bloggers had encountered my husband when he was with his bi-racial gf or a woman who was lighter than him they would have placed him in that "self-hating" category. Or say that he discriminates based on skin shade. But if they see him with me, he gets a pass and is a "good" black man. SAME GUY, totally different label.
Now I have dated black men of every skin shade. My *preference* has always been for darker men. I have no problem admitting that I had no interest in really dating a light-skinned black guy as I do not find them very attractive as a whole. Individuals, yes, but as a whole I am not really attracted to them. So even as a "lowly darkie" I have discriminated based on skin shade in my life.
I also have had no shortage of black men wanting to date/marry/mate with me. Again, I have had the opportunity to *exclude* certain types of men from my life and would never have been comfortable with that right being taken from me. So why would I want someone else to not have that right.
As far as Forrest goes, the mother of his first child was not a LSLH type of woman. She looked like a regular black woman - whatever that means to you. They didn't work out, he moved on. He me Keisha and fell in love with er. Was he supposed to pass on her because she didn't look like HIM? And how many black women would date a man like Forrest? For real? He has a wonky eye, is a little overweight and up until recently was not popular or making any real money from films. So how many of these "I got multiple degrees" type of chicks would have wanted to be with him anyway?
That post was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read in my life. I can't believe women consider this a real movement. It's just a bunch of bitter, angry, rejected females lashing out.
Evia is just irrational when it comes to our Black brothers. She cannot stand to see Black men happy and content. She hit a new low when she bashed Forest Whitkater and his wife. All I'm saying is let Mr. Whitaker be happy period.
Tell it like it is.

I wish I used that one lol.
Evia hating on "Mad Dog" from Jason's lyric.
You can't be serious??
There is an awful lot made about skin shades and black men dating white women in this country, it has become a distraction for the real issue of black people being progressive and living their lives as individuals. Its about time we stop worrying about who's dating/marrying whom.. and move on with our lives. As a black woman born in the Caribbean, it is very commonplace to see white men marrying black women and black men marrying white women around us and moving to Europe or the US..and we dont make a big issue of it.. We regard it as people living their lives and marrying the person they fall for period!!!! One day we'll grow up in this country and people can be themselves instead of living their lives to please the group they belong to!!!!
